My name is Beate Walter. I have a Ph.D. in life sciences and I have been working as a Medical Writer in clinical research for about ten years. With establishing B.M.Walter Medical Writing, I can offer you the services in Medical and Scientific Writing on a Freelance basis. Before going freelance, I was mainly working in Medical Writing in a small CRO. But on top of that, I was also active as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Junior- Project Manager and in business development.
By working as a CRA, I was able to see the Medical Writers’ documents from a different point of view, and thus checking them for comprehensibility, readability, and for possible misunderstandings. In project management and business development, I worked and assisted in the organization and structuring of projects for clinical trials and publications.
This combination of disciplines allows me now to look at your projects from different angles, to plan and structure them with you, and fulfil the tasks competently and in a timely flexible manner.
I think it is very important to continuously train and further yourself. The European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) (I am a member since 2015) offers the possibilities for training in periodic conferences and webinars, in order to learn new contents or refresh/ strengthen known skills in Medical Writing. The same is true for the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), I am a member since 2018. I work according to GPP (Good Publication Practice), GCP (Good Clinical Practice), and applicable current laws and regulations.
My unconventional career path, starting with my diploma studies at university in classical chemistry, followed by biochemistry (infectiology), going further into cell and tumor biology until I got into pharmaceutical chemistry and finally in clinical research, gives me a broad background knowledge that can be applied in your projects.
My chronic Anglophilia also plays a big role in my private life. I like to surround myself with English movies and literature. This is also beneficial for my professional activities and thus to your projects.
